Rawah Guest Ranch is a hiker's paradise. You can set off on foot for a short or all-day hike into the Rawah Wilderness or Roosevelt National Forest right from the ranch. The pocket Trail Guide to many of our marvelous half-day hikes, written by 30 year veteran Rawah hiker June Wheeler, is in each cabin and Lodge room.
"Everything here starts with 'too' - too beautiful, too friendly, too delicious, too bountiful, too many choices, too little time."
And, for those wishing to take even greater advantage of Rawah's hiking "wanderland," there are at least a dozen memorable all-day hikes. A short trip by car will bring you to the roadless areas of Rocky Mountain National Park, where you'll be able to explore the wonder of the Park without all the main-gate crowds. Many of these trails begin at about 10,000 feet yet have very gentle inclines - perfect for anyone who wants to take in some of the most spectacular scenery in the Rockies. Trail maps and easy-to-understand directions to numerous trailheads provide scenery descriptions and degree of difficulty for each hike.
Imagine enjoying these hikes with our neighbor June herself. She hikes often with our guests or talks each week with them about the enormous range of hiking choices.
