Weather The weather at Rawah Guest Ranch is usually warm in the sun, cool in the shade and often quite chilly at night. A typical July day can easily be 80+ and 35-40 at night. Humidity is always very low, but a brief afternoon shower is not uncommon.

Medical services Ivinson Medical Center in Laramie Wyoming, and Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins, Colorado, Emergency Helicopter Service, and all of our Wranglers are Advanced Wilderness First Aid and CPR certified.

Excursions
Rafting on the Cache la Poudre River, through the splendid canyon where French furtrappers once hid their gunpowder, is a class III whitewater adventure. There is no additional charge for rafting.
Rocky Mountain National Park is a terrific day trip offering spectacular views. Trail Ridge Road, North America's highest paved road, can be reached by car in 2 very scenic hours. Hiking into the Park from the north, a short drive from the ranch, is gorgeous and easy.
111th Cheyenne Frontier Days (July 18 - July 27, 2008) boasts a daily rodeo called "The Daddy of 'Em All," top evening entertainment by the biggest names in country music, shopping at art and western merchandise booths, educational exhibits, food, a carnival, and all-around fun.
Laramie's Old Town has many charming shops, galleries and restaurants. The Wyoming Territorial Prison Park (where Butch Cassidy was a guest) delights tourists. Jubilee Days in early July is a miniature Frontier Days, with PRCA rodeos, street dances, and other events.
Steamboat Springs is a glorious two-hour drive, over Cameron and Rabbit Ears passes. It's the home of cattle ranches, hot springs, and a major skiing area, which in the summer features an alpine slide, mountain biking, gondola rides, music festivals and more.

Laundry We do have facilities on the ranch, and schedule a couple of times during the week for guests to do a load or two, if necessary. Most of our multiple-week guests use a laundry drop-off service in Laramie on the Sunday in between their weeks.

Phones/Cell Phones We have a phone line in the Lodge for guests to use to make collect or calling-card calls, or to use with their laptop. Our phone service is pretty reliable; cell phones do not work in our valley.

BYOB We do not have a liquor license; guests may bring their own beer/wine/spirits to enjoy during their stay. We provide ice, mixers, etc., during the social hour before every dinner. On Sundays Wyoming sells liquor; Colorado does not.

No pets, please

"Now just where are you guys, anyway - Wyoming or Colorado?!"
We're located in Colorado, about 20 miles south of the Colorado/Wyoming border. We have a Wyoming address (as that's the closest post office) and a Colorado phone number - a bit confusing, but well worth it to live in our gorgeous valley!
